Office posture

This usually results in pain and tension in your shoulders and neck, sometimes joined by headaches. Sound familiar?

I was recently on a traveling massage retreat and worked with office employees who all complained as one about shoulder pain and tension.

Now I will tell you which muscles are tense in this case and what to do about it.

Save and repost this article to your friends and family who also sit at a desk for a long time!

So, for many hours and long days, your hands are in front of you...

This causes the major pectoral muscle to shorten and tense up. And stays in that position even later when you get up from the table!

This causes your shoulders to go forward and your posture to curl inward.

In addition, the muscles of the shoulder rotator cuff are overstretched and overstrained in the forward position of the shoulder. This often leads to shoulder pain.

And in people with strong ligaments, this situation can even lead to surgery in the end! Because this tension accumulates over hours, days, months, years and if nothing is done about it, it will only get worse.

So what do we do?

1) Stretch the major pectoral muscle at least 1 time a day. It is important to do it correctly, without overstretching the capsule of the shoulder joint, so as not to provoke shoulder pain and hypermobility.

2) Come to me for a massage, I have a three-step system of stretching the major and minor pectoral muscles that gives instant relief from shoulder tension. And it even helps to align your posture.

In addition to the major pectoral muscles, we need to talk about the neck muscles, especially on the front side. But that's for next time!
